Something you won’t hear about only once or twice when referring to the city of Salem is the Witch Trials that occurred there hundreds of years ago. While that is what the area is most widely known for, it is also a great place to live and have a good time. We do feel very safe in our neighborhood as well as walking around downtown, and our neighbors are all very friendly. The city is also very dog friendly. Living in Salem, you always have the ocean smell in the air, which I love. Salem is a mini metropolis, complete with museums, hotels, and shops. The restaurant scene is a huge draw, with A&J King Artisan Bakers, 62 Restaurant & Wine Bar, and A&B Salem Burgers + Beer among the best in town. Festivals of all kinds pack the calendar, including Haunted Happenings in October, Salem’s So Sweet Chocolate & Ice Sculpture Festival in February, and the Massachusetts Poetry Festival in May.
