Frequently Asked Questions
Q:  Is your moving company licensed and insured?
A:  We are a fully licensed company, regulated by the Massachusetts State Department of Transportation: MDTE-31178. Long distance / Interstate is licensed and regulated by the Interstate Commerce Commission: ICC MC-576796 and USDOT-1498152 . And every license required moving, cargo and/or liability insurance.
Q:  I booked my Move Online and I have Confirmation Number. What is my next Step?
A:  Unless your Status is "Confirmed & Scheduled", the Confirmation Number just confirms that the system has received your request and We will contact you by phone or e-mail to discuss all details and finally set up the move time. "Confirmed & Scheduled" status confirms that Your booking process is Compete and Anton's Movers will show up!
Q:  How does Anton's Movers protect my furniture from getting damaged?
A:  One of the preventive measures the we use Padding and/or Shrink Wrapping. We wrap your furniture with special padded blankets and we secure them with shrink wrap or tape, to eliminate damages and scratches to your furniture.
Q:  Do I need to empty my dresser drawers?
A:   It makes it faster for the movers to load/unload your dressers when they are empty. However, if they are really light, clothes may stay in your drawers because we Wrap your furniture. In that case only items that need to be removed are breakables, valuables, money, jewelry, or important documents.
Q:   Do you dissemble and reassemble furniture's?
A:   We have all the necessary tools to disassemble and reassemble your furniture if needed. Be aware that disassembly for some furniture is not recommended for different reasons. If you happen to have furniture that cannot be disassembled, we will find alternative way to move it.
Q:   What type of payment do you accept?
A:  We accept: cash, postal money order, company check or major credit cards as: Visa, Master Card and American Express. Personal checks are accepted with a copy of your credit/debit card.
Q:   Does Anton's Movers have a Stairs, Fuel, Mileage or any other Charges?
A:   No. We charge only for using our packing materials, if it is necessary to use them, like boxes, tape, etc. (Not Moving Pads or Blankets!).
Q:   Move takes 2 hours and 10 minutes. Should I pay for 3hours?
A:   Anton's Movers only charges you for the minutes we work.  Therefore, we round to the next 15 minutes.  So, if your move takes 2 hours and 10 minutes, then you  will only have to pay for 2 hours and 15 minutes worth of work. Unlike other moving competitors that round to the nearest hour.
Q:   Do I have to pay Travel Time or not?
A:   Costs of the move begin to incur the moment the truck show up at your Starting Location. However, we have limited the charge to the customer to only 15 minutes each direction within the Greater Boston area, regardless of traffic or actual distance. Anton's Movers must pay the movers, for gas, etc.
Q:   What is Driving Time?
A:   Driving Time is the time it takes the movers to get from Point A or Starting Location, to Point B or Ending Location with the customer's belongings.
Q:   Why do I need 3 (or 4 or more) guys?
A:   Anton's Movers always assigns the most efficient number of movers to each move. It is usually more expensive to under-staff a move. A smaller crew might charge a lower hourly rate, but they will take longer to complete the move. It has been well documented that when there aren't enough movers on a job, crews are more likely to rush and to fatigue, resulting in an increase in damages.
Q:   Do the guys take a lunch hour or brakes?
A:   Our movers will never take a lunch hour or any brake at the expense of the customer.
Q:   How much am I expected to tip?
A:  You are never expected to tip, and our movers never ask; however, tips are always appreciated. Movers who are met with kindness work with a desire to please.
Q:   Why do you have to give a 2 hour window for my move?
A:   We provide you with a 2 hour window of arrival if your move is scheduled in the afternoon. It might be the crew's second move of that day, and we can't be 100% certain of their arrival time until the first move is finished. However, we can try to minimize your inconvenience by calling you before the movers arrive.

Write a general description of the contents and indicate the room from which it came (or which it will go into in your new home) on the top and front of each carton. Use different colored dot stickers for each box; then, at your new house, hang a balloon of a corresponding color outside the room where you want the color-coded boxes to be delivered.
